Why do you need to have an annual test?
Annual testing is done because there are circumstances when the water can travel backwards, due to a significant pressure differential in the property’s water supply to the mains supply, thus allowing water at the property to flow backwards. Having a backflow valve ensures this does not happen. Regular testing will determine if the valve is not faulty and in need of repair or certified safe. This protects the greater community.
